Videos: Making of Eagle Wings – First Nigerian Military-Themed Movie

Here are videos of the making of first Nigerian military-themed movie, Eagle Wings. The movie which is currently in the works will be highlighting the country’s efforts in the fight against insurgency

The film explores the gallant fight-for-life by Nigerian soldiers, which is though often tragic but brings peace and national unity.

The upcoming Eagle Wings Movie which recently concluded its shoot and is being edited is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood and the nation’s Airforce.

The movie which is an action-war drama about a fighter jet pilot who got caught in a dreadful web of insurgency will star top Nigerian movie will star Femi Jacobs and Eyinna Nwigwe as leads.

As evident in the movie, the cast took basic field and combat training from the airforce personnel before production.

In the videos below made available on the movie’s Instagram handle, the movie cast is seen in full military combat gears, equipment and weaponry provided by the Nigerian Airforce (NAF).

In an address to journalists in Abuja recently, the director and script-writer of the movie, Paul Apel-Papel praised the efforts and support from the NAF in terms of props and equipment supplies of props and equipment.

Paul explained that the Eagle Wings movie which is being shot in strategic locations in Abuja, Kaduna, Borno and other States, will showcase activities of the military through the motion picture; their brave efforts, challenges and some historical aspects of the fight against insurgency in Nigeria.

“The ultimate goal of this movie is to show to Nigerians the efforts of this service in nation-building and for us also to know what they go through and the sacrifices they make,” Apel-Papel said.

“The officers themselves, the soldiers and their families and friends and that is basically what the story is about.
“The plot is about three brilliant course mates who are also best friends and are faced with a challenge in the course of doing their work and ended up rescuing a whole community.

“We put all these resources together to, first of all, tell a story that will draw the kind of emotions we expect and drive home the kind of message we want to reach Nigerians and beyond,” he added.
