The Quality of Our Home Videos Has Dropped – Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor and director, Yul Edochie has said that the quality of the industry’s films has dropped and called for filmmakers to step up with quality productions.

In a post on his twitter handle, Edochie explained that the poor quality of films in Nollywood was as a result of having ‘crappy actors/actresses, crappy directors’ and the likes.

Yul however, absolved dedicated executive producers, producers, directors, actors and other crew members who are doing their best to keep the film industry at its best.

The former contestant at the 2019 Gubernatorial polls, advised that practitioners in the industry cannot continue to allow quacks to frustrate the efforts of the good hands in the industry and urged seasoned film practitioners to help revive the craft.

“The quality of our home videos has dropped so much. Lots of crappy actors/actresses, crappy directors. We can’t continue like this. To all seasoned Nollywood practitioners, pls let’s revive it. People love our content all over the world. We just need to step up the quality.

“Don’t get me wrong my people. We have many dedicated Executive producers, producers, directors, actors and other crew members who are doing great jobs. At the same time, we have some who are messing up our efforts with their ‘shoot it like that’ attitude. It has to stop,” the thespian argued.

  1. The drop in quality is expected in such industry where anyone can come in and go out. The good producers and directors should just keep up their works. Some how the not too good ones will learn. Is just a matter of time.
