Ego Boyo’s The Ghost and the House of Truth Now in Cinemas

Nigeria’s old-time prominent actress, Ego Boyo is making a comeback to the movie scene as a producer and executive producer this time around with the new movie; The Ghost and the House of Truth.

Boyo, having recently concluded works on one of the most anticipated films in recent times in the movie circles in Nigeria, will be making her debut in the cinemas from November 22 when it would be first screened.

The Nigerian actress and movie producer who hails from Enugu State in Eastern parts of Nigeria was popular for her role as the character Anne Haastrup in the late 80s soap, Checkmate. She also starred as actor and producer on the critically acclaimed and popular 90’s film, Violated.

Having started her own production enterprise, Temple Productions in 1996, Ego proceeded with the production of A Hotel Called Memory in 2017. The flick later turned out to be an award-winning piece with the audience award for best experimental film at the Black Star Film Festival in Philadelphia.

The movie, The Ghost and The House Of Truth as directed by Akin Omotoso, tells the tale of a counsellor whose ten-year-old daughter goes missing. Unconvinced and frustrated with the effort put into the police investigation, she takes on the responsibility to go after upon herself to catch the perpetrator, but as time runs out, things take an unexpected turn.

Her new film stars veteran filmmaker, Toyin Oshinaike as Uncle Joe, BAFTA Breakout Brit award winner, Susan Wokoma as Bola Ogun, multiple award-winning actress, Kate Henshaw as Inspector Folashade, Mario Obruthe as Tomi, Imoleayo Olusanya as Nike and Dara Egerton – Shyngle as Susan.

It also features Fabian Lojede (‘Comatose,’ ‘Jacob’s Cross,’ ‘Man on Ground,’ ‘October 1’), Chioma ‘Chigurl’ Omeruah and Kemi Lala Akindoju, who is also the associate producer and casting director of the film.

The Film will be premiered November 15th at AFRIFF but will be available nationwide from November 22nd in all cinemas.
